About Point Panic Studios in Kakaʻako, Honolulu, Hawaii
In support of Hawaii’s growing film industry, Point Panic Studios offers a newly renovated, multi-use production facility. The space includes an 18,000+ square foot clear span warehouse with 36-foot ceilings, along with 6,000 square feet of fully furnished, air-conditioned offices. Surrounding the studio are more than 150,000 square feet (3 acres) of secure, fenced lots that are ideal for temporary basecamps, equipment staging, and parking for crew, production trucks, and trailers.
Located on the waterfront in Kakaʻako, Point Panic Studios is set in one of Honolulu’s most dynamic neighborhoods, known for its vibrant food scene, street murals, and modern urban landscape. Just behind the property is Kakaʻako Waterfront Park, a popular spot for picnics and ocean access, as well as the iconic Point Panic surf break. Nearby, Kewalo Basin serves as Hawaii’s largest commercial boat harbor, while Ala Moana Center, the world’s largest open-air shopping mall, offers convenient retail and dining options. Centrally positioned between Honolulu International Airport and Waikiki, Point Panic Studios is one of the most accessible production spaces in Hawaii.

Hawaii’s State-Owned Film Stage at Diamond Head: A Landmark for Production
When people think of Hawaii on screen, they imagine lush valleys, golden beaches, and dramatic volcanic landscapes. Yet just a short drive from Waikiki stands one of the state’s most important assets for the film and television industry: the state-owned film stage near Diamond Head.
If you’re looking for the stability of a covered set, look no further than the Hawaii Film Studio. Located on a gated 7.5-acre lot at the foot of Diamond Head crater, the Studio offers a quiet, secure shooting environment conveniently located within 30 minutes of the Honolulu International Airport, 15 minutes from downtown Honolulu, and just a few minutes from the accommodations, restaurants, and nightlife of Waikiki.

The Hawaii Film Studio is the only state owned and operated film studio in the country, the studio was home to two of television’s longest running hits, Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum, P.I.. It has also served as the headquarters for other series including Jake and the Fatman, Raven, The Byrds of Paradise, One West Waikiki, Baywatch Hawaii, Hawaii, North Shore, Lost, The River, Last Resort, Hawaii Five-0 (reboot), Magnum, P.I (reboot) and currently, NCIS: Hawaiʻi; movies-of-the-week; episodic television shows such as Beverly Hills 90210 and ER (Africa episodes); documentaries; commercials; and feature films such as Fifty First Dates, Final Fantasy, The Rundown, Blue Crush, and Tears of the Sun.
Entrepreneurs Sandbox
All Sandbox spaces come equipped with state-of-the-art presentation tools, wi-fi access, and on-site PROFESSIONAL support. The soundstage facility that empowers both local and visiting storytellers. Located at the Entrepreneurs Sandbox in Honolulu, Hawai’i, Creative Studios is operated by State of Hawai’i CID and HTDC.
